The first Smithtown Industry Advisory meeting for 2023-2024 did not disappoint as a new format brought high energy, interactivity, and productivity!
Smithtown IAB members were greeted by over 20 Smithtown IAB Student Ambassadors (CTE Club Officers) as they welcomed members to the first meeting of the new school year.
The new format was more "student centered" where the Smithtown IAB Student Ambassadors (officers from all CTE Clubs) were in charge of the meeting and helped to lead the committees. This involvement of our students led for more collaborative work to develop meaningful programs.
Throughout the meeting, students represented all three areas of CTE (Business, Technology, and Family & Consumer Sciences), where they spoke on behalf of all the programs offered, the IAB Committees and the impact/importance the IAB members are to them and their future.
Mr. Phil Como, Smithtown IAB Executive Director stated, “This new format represents a total collaboration between industry, school administration/faculty and our Smithtown students and is something to develop professional relationships."
