The School of Business, which is part of the Career and Technical Education department, recently hosted their 35th Annual Business Awards Ceremony.
This night is about recognizing students for their outstanding achievement in their Business classes, as well as honor the Senior officers of DECA and School of Business Honor Society and award Senior Scholarships to student recipients from the Smithtown Rotary, M & T Bank, Nesconset Chamber of Commerce, Association of School Business Officials, Smithtown School of Business and the Smithtown Industry Advisory Board.
Mrs. Christine LoFrese, CTE Director, began the evening welcoming all the students and their families and thanking the School of Business Teachers for all they do for the students.
High School West Principal, Mr. Coady, and Mr. Aleci, Assistant Principal of High School East, were also in attendance to give remarks. The night included some words of wisdom from 2013 graduate Jennifer Joseph-Campanelli and 2015 graduate Ryan O’Connor about how they used the skills they learned from being involved in the School of Business in college and their careers. Jennifer was a West graduate and works for Henry Schein as a Product Category Manager.
Ryan was an East graduate and is a CPA at UHY LLP.
